Create a Relaxing Environment
This aromatherapy diffuser with remote control is perfect for homebodies who enjoy diffusing soothing scents at home. I own this brand without the remote but that would be very useful for sure.
The first thing to do is create soothing lighting so your environment reflects the calm and peace you want. Play soft music or turn on a noise machine to help block out the world. After that, turn on a candle or an oil diffuser to complete the ultimate relaxation atmosphere.
Mindful Breathing Techniques
This is a great book to help you slow down in life and take in all the beauty around us. A great book if you feel you need to relax more.
You can try deep breathing exercises and mindfulness meditation to help with stress relief. I have read a couple of books by Thich Nhat Hanh and “The Miracle of Mindfulness: The Classic Guide to Meditation” is a great book to help you shift your perspective. He teaches mindfulness in daily life to help with stress.

Cut Technology Time Off
Avoid your social media. It’s a trap. You will be tempted to stay on your phone for hours. At the end of it, you still end up feeling tired and like you wasted time. There are so many negative world events out there. I prefer to avoid looking for them since it can be mentally draining. It is better to read a feel-good or self-improvement book since your mind can focus on positivity in your life. You can also try to go outside if the weather is nice enough to clear your mind.
Self-Care to Help Relax
The Chamomile-scented Bath Gift Set offers relaxation and self-care in a beautifully packaged basket. A perfect way to help the special women in your life unwind and rejuvenate.
This cozy blanket is a perfect gift for homebodies who love to snuggle up on the couch. Its plush material adds warmth and style to any room.
If you want to immerse yourself completely in relaxation you can do some self-care. Run a warm bath with bubbles or a bath bomb. After that shower, you can do the skincare you don’t do so often. It’s important to try out different relaxing ideas since you might love or hate something but you won’t know until you try it. As an example, for me, I have only tried a bath once and I did not enjoy it. I kept thinking “I can just get out and be in my warm cozy blanket”. Not everyone will love all these ideas but it’s important to try them at least once to see if you might have found your most favorite unwinding activity.
Engage in Physical Activity
There are low-movement activities to try but also moving can be a great way to relax, as well. You can start with something not too intense like yoga or stretching but I enjoy jump roping. When my mind is feeling negative or stressed cardio has helped me clear my mind. After that, a shower feels like the most relaxing thing ever. It completely resets my mood.
Relaxing Ritual Creation
It can be helpful to have a common set of steps you take when you get home to unwind. Having a schedule even to relax can put your mind at ease since there will be minimal thought put into the order of doing things. You can make sure to shower first then wear comfy clothes and prepare yourself a drink of choice. Then journal or read a calming book. Anything you choose, make sure it is something you enjoy. Explore different options until you have your routine down.
Spend Time Outdoors
Staying indoors all day can affect your mental state, as well. It is important that you push yourself to go outside and take a walk or sit in your patio and get a bit of sun or fresh air at least. Personally stepping outside has helped me shift my mood when I’m feeling down and would strongly recommend it. Even if you have to force yourself, you’ll be happy you did by the end of it.
Create a Relaxing Sleep Atmosphere
Restful sleep is essential in how you will feel the following day so you need to make sure you are setting yourself up to get the restful sleep you need to conquer your next work day.
Read a book 30 minutes before you have to sleep and make sure you are sleeping early. If there is too much noise invest in a noise machine that can help block out all distractions.
Socialize with Family and Friends
My last tip would be to set hang-out dates with friends and family. Sometimes we can get so invested in our work life that we push family and friends away but it can really help to see them. They can give you a good laugh or you can vent and maybe see things differently after that conversation with them.
I hope these ideas are helpful to you and that you can incorporate them into your work week.
